Rally 1: West Coast of America
Day 1 Depart Las Vegas – South Rim of Grand Canyon – about 275 miles
Crossing through Bolder City and Hover Dam (tour of dam is excellent!)
Head down to Kingman AZ – part of the famous “Route 66”
Continue to “Peach Springs AZ – you can take a side trip to a part of the Grand Canyon few people see here – via the Hualipi Indian Reservation.
Continue on to the Grand Canyon National Park – and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon – overnight here – either camping or hotel of your choice.
Day 2 South Rim of Grand Canyon to Cortez, Colorado – about 275 miles
Heading east out of Grand Canyon into the mesa desert of eastern AZ
Bearing north to “4 corners” – the only place in the US where the corners of 4 states intersect.
Bear north to Cortez, Colorado – this is the closest town to Mesa Verda National Park – with some of the best preserved Ancestral Pueblo dwellings - http://www.nps.gov/meve/

Day 3 Cortez, CO to Price, UT – about 230 miles
Travel through world famous Moab – check out the “Slick Rock Trail” or “Dragons Back”
Visit one of 5 or 6 national parks in this area (Arches, Canyon lands, Capital Reef). Tour the great town of Moab, UT
Overnight in Price, UT – camping or hotel
Day 4 Price, UT to Wells, NV – about 300 miles
Check out the world famous Bonneville Salt Flats – maybe set a new speed record for your greaser..!!
Check out the Great Salt Lake!
Spend the night in Wells and visit the brothels, Walmart, and various watering holes. Or try your luck at the casinos!

Day 5 Wells, NV to South Lake Tahoe, CA – about 400 miles
Bit of a long day here – but mostly flatland across Nevada – lots of strange sights to see
South Lake Tahoe – great scenery in the Sierra Mountains and the lake –
Camping or Hotel in South Lake Tahoe.
Day 6 South Lake Tahoe to San Francisco – About 225 miles
Take historic Route 50 through the gold rush towns of Placerville and Pollock Pines
Take a little detour to see Yosemite
Roll into San Francisco and take in a Halloween party
Hotel or Hostel or camping if you can find it?
Day 7 Rest day in San Francisco – take in this fabulous city
Day 8 San Francisco CA to Monterey, CA – 125 Miles
Head south along Half Moon Bay thru Santa Cruz
Take in the incredible beauty of the Pacific Coast
Monterey has a great downtown and wharf area
Nearby is famous Carmel by the Sea (Clint Eastwood was the Mayor)
Camping or Hotels – overnight in Monterey/Carmel.
Day 9 Monterey, CA to Santa Barbara, CA about 240 miles
One of the premier drives in the world – Big Sur Highway – Pacific Ocean meets California coastline.
Take it all in with a leisurely drive down the coast
Stop in for a tour at San Simeon – home of Hearst Castle – the mansion built by William Randolph Hearst – www.hearstcastle.com
Overnight in Santa Barbara – camping or hotels or hostels.
Day 10 Santa Barbara, CA to Venice Beach, CA about 100 miles
Take in Los Angeles and Venice Beach
Day 11 Rest day – enjoy LA and everything around
Day 12 Venice, CA to Las Vegas, NV about 300 miles
Cruise through famous Barstow, CA –
Go see Death Valley in CA
The Salton Sea is below sea level
Cruise by the Brothels in Parhump NV
Overnight in Las Vegas – camping or hotel
Day 13 Rest day in Vegas! You made it!!
Greaseball Party and Awards banquet
